VMWare player install messed up

I sucessfully installed vmware player but it seems part of it didn't install, as whenever I try to install or remove anything I get this: http://paste.ubuntu-nl.org/17428
It also means some programs that are queued to install after this do not get installed. It persists after restarting and for diffferent installations. Can anyone help?

I have a similar problem and therefore have sidelined VMWare for the time being. I suspect that it is a kernel conflict. It used to run okay but it now does not respond. I haven't got around to see if it works on an older kernel.

(Oops. It works in XP though).

Sounds like the problem I had. I found the answer in the Ubuntu forums. It is a mismatch between the kernal sources and wmware module sources, or something like that. You have to enable some extra repos and it will fix. Do a search on that forum.
