I'm looking for a distros of Ubuntu that is either called Unbuntu or Unbunto, but I'm having no luck at all finding either one. I had seen it running on someone's computer, and tried explaining it to someone to help me find it to download, but I had no luck. It has popped up onto a video site that compares Vista and Ubuntu with apparently the Unbuntu/Unbunto desktop? I'm not sure what it is.
Just wanted to know if anyone knew what desktop or distros this was. Maybe I'm wrong in thinking that it's Ubuntu at all because it doesn't look anything like 6.10.
I didn't get the video play..but I've seen "Ubuntu" spelled the wrong way in various ways, so I would not be surprised if some geek reporter had once again failed to get the real name written. Of course it could be some distribution, but I haven't heard about it either. Or it's possible they're referring to Ubuntu Linux (notice the "face off" text there) with some makeup applied to it?
I do belive you are referring to Ubuntu, currently there are 3 versions of it that I know of which are, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Xubuntu, they are all basically the same except for the main gui it uses.
For instance:
Ubuntu uses Gnome
Kubuntu uses KDE
And Xubuntu uses...X<--not sure of that as i have not installed that distro.
I use Ubuntu and you can get it from www.ubuntu.com. Go to the downloads section and look for ubuntu-6.06.1-alternate-i386.iso or ubuntu-6.06.1-alternate-i386.iso.torrent if you have a torrent manager, like this one: http://www.utorrent.com/download.php
generally a torrent is a more reliable way of downloading.
The one i told you to download above is the one i downloaded. I have just a simple desktop system, its not 64 bit, its not a mac, and its not a server. If you have one of those then carefully select the right file.
Hope this helps.

i've seen a nubuntu but i haven't tried it and i don't think it's supported by the people who developed ubuntu. they have screenshots of it in the linux screenshot section.
And Xubuntu uses...X<--not sure of that as i have not installed that distro.
Xubuntu uses the Xfce Desktop. Biggest advantage to Xfce over Gnome/KDE, is that the Xfce desktop GUI, is lighter than the other two, and thus will run better on older, slower PCs. Functionally though, if you can do it on one Ubuntu/Kubuntu PC, you should be able to do it on an Xubuntu PC(or at least I've yet to run into a situation where I could do it on one and not the other)...
If you decide to go with Ubuntu, here's a great wiki that you'll likely find very useful. Stick with the latest stable release(6.10 Edgy Eft), and in my opinion, you have one of the most stable Linux OS's there is.
i just saw the video, and it's ubuntu with beryl running. and yeah, they just misspelled ubuntu.
Xubuntu uses the Xfce desktop. lighter compared to gnome and kde. xubuntu is mostly preferred to older machines.
if you're going to d/l ubuntu, i would do it from their site http://www.ubuntu.com . i've tried d/ling it from here, but for some reason, it wasn't complete.
