time skew - noapic hangs xorg
Hi
I am running Ubuntu 5.10 32bit on my 64bit laptop(Turion64). I do this because there are several package problems on the 64bit version. However, the clock worked fine on the 64 bit version, but on the 32 bit version, the time goes 2 times as fast. I have tried adding noapic as kernel parameters, but when I do this, I can't start X. I simply get a black screen and the computer hangs. I have also tried no_timer_check , nolapic and noapictimer.
Any suggestions?
