Nvidia+FC3, system hangs when i edit xorg.conf

Hey, i know this is a frequent topic,
but every time i change the xorg.conf file
my system hangs n i have 2 reinstall FC3.

so anyway this is what i do...
1. edit inittab, change the default into 3.
2. run nvidia driver,
3.edit xorg.conf
identifier = "NVIDIA GeForce"
4. edit inittab, change the dafualt back 2 a 5,

now this worked perfectly on FC2.
is there something else i'm supposed 2 do?
or what am i doing wrong?

can some1 help me?

thanx 4 ur time.
