howto play .midi sound files with the firefox ?

Try installing timidity and freepats. Thats what I use and your links plays for me.

I've installed, but still doesn't work.
which distro do you have ?
I have ubuntu dapper drake.

this problem is solved now:

1.) install timidity

2.) get sound patches:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/..._MIDI_on_Linux

http://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/distf...12_full.tar.gz

3.) replace /etc/timidity.cfg with /home/user/eawpats/linuxconfig/timidity.cfg, edit and set the path !

4.) install mozplugger

5.) change in /etc/mozpluggerrc from:

controls noisy stream: timidity -Od "$file"
to:
Code:
controls noisy stream: timidity "$file"
and that's it !
