Determining printer ipp for printer properties
Hiya, folks! I just recently installed the Zorin OS version of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I have a Canon Pixma IP1600 USB printer. I've been told that it will work with the Canon Pixma IP2200 driver. Afte going through a few gyrations, I seem to have the driver correctly installed, and the system recognnizes that it is there. HOWEVER--because I don't know the printer's IPP address, the OS isn't communicating with the printer! Can someone please help me to correct this before I lose what little sanity I have left? Also, I have seen some info on how to revise the scripts(?) to give better control over print quality, and perform maintenance functions such as cleaning the print heads, print a test page, and possibly even align the cartridges (?). If somebody could give me an up-to-date walkthrough on this, I'd really appreciate it!
