I install freeglut
The package name is freeglut3-dev : $ sudo apt-get install freeglut3-dev

There should be no problems with the install : Ubuntu 12.04-32.
1) sudo su
2) bash cuda_5.0.35_linux_32_ubuntu11.10-1.run
..... etc. etc. : Works OK here, cuda is installed to /usr/local/cuda-5.0.
