Amuled causing system to just freeze up! HELP!

Ok, so I've been starting to get some crazy crashes on my once extremely (up for a month) stable server. I installed amuled from the repositories and it all runs fine for a little while. If I leave the computer on with amuled running I all of a sudden find that the whole system just freezes and doesn't respond to any input at all.

This also happens if I have torrentflux running and downloading something.

I've managed to isolate the issue to these two programs because once I kill them or do not have them running the system can stay up for days without crashing.

So my suspicion is that the network activity of these two programs is causing some sort of panic in the code, either the network code or the kernel itself. Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Also, I don't have the first clue of which log files to look into in order to figure out what is going on. Also appreciate any help on that as well.

Gracias,
Shifty

These file sharing applications are excellent targets for evil doers. I just read this report.

It seems to me that this entire category of software should be avoided.

Throttle Settings

Have you set max upload and download speeds? If you throttle the bandwidth used by the application (use no more than half of the available upstream and downstream speed), maybe it won't freeze the computer.

Do you get a low or high ID? Do you have a firewall, iptables rules, a router? Did you open those ports (and only those ports)?
