a bit of warning
"preupgrade" ONLY workes if you installed the OS SO YOU CAN USE IT
the default install has the /boot partition at 100 meg
"preupgrade" MUST have /boot at a min. of 500 meg to 750 meg ( use a /boot of 1 gig -- to be safe)
this MUST be set at install time and NOT later ( and set in a custom install -- default install will not set it )
also the fedora 14 dvd
will NOT upgrade any third party rpm's you might have installed from rpmfusion, livnia ,rpmforge, adobe,....
Nor will ANY proprietary software be upgraded . No music or video codecs ( except or the gpl'd ones) . or the ATI or Nvidia driver from there web sites .
so vlc, mplayer will need to be reinstalled by hand .
