I've been battling this issue for a few days now. I have vsftpd setup on Novell OES 9. I have it running for anonymous users and local users. My local user setup is fine, the users can write/read, whatever... However my Anonymous section isn't working. I can login and see directories but can't create folders, write, etc... I don't think my config file is the problem. I have the same type of server running on RHEL4 and it works great (I'm using an almost identical config file). write_enable=YES and things of that nature are all setup. However, when I enter a anon_root=/ftp/pub it doesn't acknowledge the change, it still defaults to /srv/ftp. Perhaps it isn't using my config file? If not I can't see how the local users portion of ftp is working.... I've basically mocked my RHEL4 setup including directory/permissions structure. I've also read a few things on the web and tried them such as making an anonymous account and setting its home dir to the ftp upload dir. Anymore ideas?
