VSFTPD:How to have vsftpd ask for anon user to "send email for password"?

I have set up a vsftp server for anonymous use. I have a general banner display when connected to the server. I would like for the server to prompt the anon user to send email for password at the password prompt.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

The closest I got to this was setting ftpd_banner to say "enter your email address for password" (actually, I used banner_file because I also wanted to tell the user to put files in "incoming" and it took 2 lines)
