virtio device not created for qemu-guest-agent

Hi,

I'm running an OpenSuSE 15.2 virtual machine on a Proxmox server. On this VM I want to get the qemu guest agent to work, so I installed the package qemu-guest-agent. Far as I know this should create the following device file for me: /dev/virtio-ports/org.qemu.guest_agent.0

However, it does not. I believe it should be created by udev. In /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/80-qemu-ga.rules I have
Code:
SUBSYSTEM=="virtio-ports", ATTR{name}=="org.qemu.guest_agent.0", TAG+="systemd", ENV{SYSTEMD_WANTS}+="qemu-ga@virtio\\x2dports-org.qemu.guest_agent.0.service"
Any idea on why the device file is not created?

Louis

I just had the same problem.

Turns out "QEMU Guest Agent" option in VM settings in proxmox was disabled for some reason.

Ah thanks, you're right. I absolutely overlooked that one. Issue is fixed now.
