Tomcat start page in SuSE 9.1 Pro

After installing the tomcat servlet engine that comes with SuSE 9.1 Pro (5.0 tree) I can't seem to open http://localhost:8080. It just tries and tries but no cigar. Isn't there supposed to be an overview page there with links to the examples, documentation, admin and manager page? At least that's what I remember from manually installing a Tomcat 5.0.x on Slackware. Both the admin page http://localhost:8080/admin and the manager page http://localhost:8080/manager/html work fine btw, after editing tomcat-users.xml file.

Have I messed up somewhere or is the overview page just broken?

Thanks for any insights.

Just for reference, after some more searching I found what's causing the missing overview page. Apparantly the SuSE team have decided to go and break a perfectly working default Tomcat installation by moving the overview page to their /demoserver/ applet along with the examples and make /base/ the default when opening http://localhost:8080. Don't ask why, I honestly woulnd't know.
