Unhappy modem


i am new to linux and have just setup suse 10.1. I have managed to setup most hardware including modem(i think). i'm just looking for the command to start the modem. Can anyone help?????

if everything in the kernel is already properly set e.g. ppp modules and modem drivers, then i guess the only thing you need left is pppd.

After that you can also have wvdial to control pppd to make dialing easier.

Note during config that the stupidmode option in wvdial might also be needed.
