Just use the latest Nvidia driver.

You can also download the driver from the Nvidia homepage and install it.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html

But the shipped nouveau driver is fully functional.

Hi there,

I had to give up with openSUSE, it was a nightmare, I'm on ubuntu now, though it was still a little battle getting driver to work.

Did you use the additional drivers function within Ubuntu? Hit the windows key for the menu to open, start typing additional driver and select it. It will assist in installing them for you.

Hi...

It sounds like you were able to get it installed. If so, please mark this thread as "SOLVED" by clicking on "Thread Tools" directly above your initial post. Thanks!

Regards...

No this was never solved, I never managed to get the nvidia driver installed on openSUSE, I finally installed Linux Mint again where there was no problem.

In my opinion, to mark this as SOLVED would be misleading, and lead someone to read this thinking that it will help when it will not.

Hi...

I see your point. I'm sorry that it didn't work out with OpenSUSE.

Regards...
