Ebay login problems with Suse10.1

Greetings,

I just recently churned distro's from Mdk2006 to Suse 10.1 and I am having difficulty with logging into ebay.com.au/ebay.com using Suse 10.1.

a)Originally had latest tarball of Firefox and I could log in with Mdk2006 & Firefox.
b)Installed new installation of Suse 10.1 and used the same existing local tarball version of Firefox - didn't work
c)Removed /home mozilla directories and installed Suse packaged Firefox - didn't work
d)Moved old /home/user directory and re-installed Suse 10.1 'fresh' using only Suse packaged Firefox and a new /home/user account - didn't work
e)tried other browsers, Opera and Konqi - didn't work

I have noticed Suse 10.1 uses old java jre's tested from:
http://www.java.com/en/download/inst...6.13-4-default
Description Your Environment
Java Runtime Vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.
Java Runtime Version 1.4.2_11

Any ideas?

TIA!

Gee Wizz - it was Firewall issue!

I couldn't submit my top post even on this site, and then a zany thought came to my mind that it may be firewall related.

So I disabled the standard firewall service and I could post this AND log into ebay!?!

Oh well... Caveat Emptor :-)

That is very strange - i use SuSE 10.1 as one of my distro's and i have not had problems with eBAY..
Go into YaST > Security and users > firewall..
In here i just kept its default setting and just put my primary internet connection in the 'External' zone..
I have not added any services into the External zone - other than DHCP..

Unsure if this helps as i think this was the default setting anyway =)
