amarok equalizer

Hy!
I'm using Suse 9.3 and I have a strange problem with amarok 1.2.When i turn on the equalizer and I try to change the preset the volume suddently goes down.If i change the preset back to normal or I turn off the equalizer the volume goes back to normal.
I use xine as the engine for amarok.
I've used Suse 10.1 before and I've had the same problem.
Can you please help me because I think amarok is the best linux player and I don't want to use another player

I tired using the equalizer and noticed the same thing when using the presets. I brought up kmix and brought up the master volume and the pcm volume to compensate. When I switched to the the "zero" preset, the audio sounded as it did before, so you are just noticing the equalizing working and there isn't something wrong.
