error while deleting (not on the same file system)

just a little problem;
when using the file browser in suns java desktop system on solaris 10, when i try to delete a file it comes up with a small window which says:

http://81.139.27.9/Screenshot.png
______________________________________________
error while deleting
---------------------------------------------------------
error " not on the same file system" while
deleting "/export/hom...ictures.zip".

would you like to continue?

i can however delete the file using webmin from a different computer.
the file is also available through a website using apache, but no-one is able to access the file at the moment from outside my local network, so its not being accessed.

so as i'd rather not have to go use a different computer to delete files on my system, any help would be appreciated.

This is probably not Solaris related, but a Nautilus issue.

I guess it is because Nautilus is using the trashcan system, so what you do is "moving to trash" which is not a real unix delete. For some reason it cannot move your remote file to the trashcan.

You can verify this is the root cause by enabling "Include a Delete command that bypass Trash" in the preferences menu (Behavior tab) and trying again, that time with the real delete command.
