Troubleshoot issue

Hello!

I recently installed Slackware 15 on a laptop with NVME drive and LUKS following the guide in the README_CRYPT.txt file

When I boot, the following error is presented and I am dumped into a prompt (see attached image):

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...1&d=1689706569

I can then mount my system by unlocking the LUKS encrypted partition

Code:
cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/nvme0n1p2 luksRoot
type in the password

mount the partition

Code:
mount /dev/cryptvg/root /mnt
and then execute return command

Code:
return
and the system boots nicely.

How do I get elilo to prompt me for the password without these steps?

I have a vfat partition mounted to /boot/efi/ on /dev/nvme0n1p1 which contains my EFI config, vmlinuz kernel, and initrd.gz file.

It looks like you are attempting to unlock the efi partition instead of root partition. Either the initrd wasn't generated correctly or something wrong in the elilo.config file.

Quite right.

I reran it from the mounted volume and moved the initrd.gz file to /boot/efi/EFI/Slackware and the issue is resolved.

Thanks!
