xterm -fs switch

I read the man page on xterm and it doesn't explain how to use the xterm -fs switch, it is to change the font size.

I tried xterm -fs 14 and nothing works, tried xterm -fs 14x14 but it gives errors.

So the slackware xterm package wasn't compiled to have this switch to work?

Also, do you know how to open another tab within xterm? sort of like gnome-terminal works?
