www.slackware.com site does not come up. Ping slackware.com IP A record 64.57.102.34 no response, but NS record for slackware.com IP 64.57.102.33 is alive.

Anyone able to bring up www.slackware.com?

Very odd, indeed. Still down, as of 2330 CST. No response in Firefox or console browser Links.

Very odd . . . so much for checking the ChangeLogs.

It's the web site that's down, not the ftp server.

Is someone gonna start a thread every time slackware.com goes down ? I guess it's a sign of how unstable Slackware is, eh ?

Obviously. We better all stick to Ubuntu to not have such problems.

Don't panic when you see the website go down and as mentioned just use a mirror if you want to look at changelogs etc.
There have been some intermittent problems with the server hardware that are proving very hard to track down but the machine in question is scheduled for replacement in the near future anyway.

Good to know.. I was actually extremely surprised to know that the Slackware site was not coming up. I thought the only reason that would happen would be power outage....

Actually that's what it usually is a power outage or hardware failure. So, don't panic whenever this happens, it'll be up ASAP. Just ask Pat V., he's around here somewhere, he posted on this before, search it.
