trying to compiling 2.6 kernel with sata support


Hello I've did a fresh install of slackware 10.1 with sata.i kernel and now I want to compile the 2.6 kernel from /testing however I cant figure out how to add sata support I tried "make menuconfig" and couldn't find anything about it in there maybe I'm just blind I've also did a few google searches to no avail I have a gigabyte 7VAXP Ultra motherboard

Its in "device drivers" ---> "SCSI device support" ---> "SCSI low-level drivers"

its listed just a little down the list.

Be sure to enable SCSI Disk in there, the low-level drivers alone are not enough. *nod*

SCSI disk is enabled by default.
