Angry sound in slack 9.1 (audigy)

I did a fresh install of the new slackware 9.1 this weekend.

But I don't get my sound to work.
I was uncommenting the right module, as usual
The system says it cant find the module.

Has tis anything to do with this 'alsa-stuff' ?

you might goto sourceforge site and get the emu10k1 driver, and the emu-tools also.

I've found for my laptop with slackware 9.1 that the alsa driver is a piece of sh*t. The sound is absolutely horrible and I can't stand to listen to it at all. I havn't tested it with my Soundblaster Live! 5.1 card yet but I will and post a report of how it sounds.

My Audigy 2 works great with the Alsa driver. I found that the SF EMU10K1 driver did not do the trick for me. On the Alsa website there is a howto for installing the driver. There is also a load of threads on this forum about this card. So you can do a search if the install doesn't work out.

Good luck!

Thanks for helping out !

I was expecting the 'audigy' card to be supported at this time.

After I posted this , I was wondering if the 'audigy' card was supported by 'OSS' , checked with their website and found out that it was not.

I downloaded and installed the 'sourceforge' driver with no problems !
