Either soffice or libreoffice in a bash prompt works for me, on a 14.1 system. ( same version ).

Have you got jdk installed?

This thread should be moved to the Slackware forum

https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/

or, better yet, you should post a comment on Alien Bob's blog?

It would appear you have installed the wrong package, a 64 bit package on a 32 bit system. Remove the 64 bit package, and install the 32 bit package.

Did the correct package solve the problem? As a courtesy please make sure to mark solved threads accordingly. I use quite a few of Alien Bob's scripts and packages and have done so for years. He is truly a Slackware genius. If the package arch didn't solve your problem please post more info so that others can offer you assistance.

Thanks,
Skippy
