Hi folks, I have slackware installed, and after loading the
module for ac97 sound card, I could have ok sound from
my speakers!however, when I play a cd with the cdrom player,
the sound volume is really very low! it has nothing to do
with the mixer, as all other sounds coming from the desktop
are loud and clear! I have heard about preamplifier problems,
but in windows it works alright (unless windows makes sure to
preamplify the sound).
Also, I have been pointed to the use of aumix...but I do not
know what this is

Does anybody know how to fix this?

any help will be apreciated!

And why would you believe that double posting solves all your problems? If you posted in one place there is no need to post again in another place, I see the issue is Slackware related, and forums can be a little bit confusing for a newcomer, but please try to keep it clean
