Fast mirror

I just got my ISOs from ftp://ftp.heanet.ie/mirrors/ftp.slac...kware-10.0-iso and I was getting rates up to 600KB/s (I'm all done so you can slow it down now

I just thought of something:

What would you guys have done if 56Kers were taking up all of Pat's slots on slackware.org's server, so that none of the mirrors could access 10.0? We would have to wait for DAYS!!!

Hey MunCH!
Thanks for the Azureus tip! It seems much faster than the other bit torrent client.

wicked mirror, I live on a small island, so although I am on cable, we have a wireless shot between here and the mainland that tends to slow things down a lot, but it's a nice sunny day out, so nobody is using the network right now, and I am getting over 200kB/sec and the fastest I have ever seen is 150kb/sec! Thanks very much for the link, WOOT!

Wouldn't that be a little incentive to purchase Slack10 from their website?

Alright.... I'm getting semi-annoyed now.... Paid 24.95 for a script plus 30 bones or whatever it is for each release and people have been running it for a week now for free...... (Yes, I'm whining like a school boy). WHERE IN THE HELL IS MY FREAKIN' BOXED SET!!!!!!

Just joking really but I'm still kinda tweaked about it.... So I've downloaded disc 1 already and am working on the second one. Just seems to me that I should be one of the first ones to get it is all...... Thats how I would work it if I was Pat. I wouldn't release the ISO until 3-5 days after I shipped ALL of my paid subscribers boxed sets out the door.....

Someone just tell me to STFU already....

Well, it seems like you have a valid complaint. It's bizarre that as a paying subscriber you have to download it! Send em an email, let em know how ya feel...

If nothing else, thanks for supporting slack!

No.... I would feel bad even complaining to them... I'll give it one more week and then I'll know that something happened via transport... That or someone dropped the ball in Shipping or billing... I get billed if I want to check and see if someone has charged me before I get my monthly statement so...... Not gonna be doing that.... Oh well... Just felt like bitching. My 2nd cd just finished so It's time to format and do a fresh install...

Hey, Is anyone else in the same boat, or have you guys gotten yours? Might be nice to get a consensus here...

I'm still patiently waiting for my CDs and hoping they'll arrive this week.

Frankly, I'm not in a rush, and there is an upside:

I check this board and others to get the heads up on any possible weirdness or bugs.

So far most of you seem pretty pleased though.

Downloading CD 1 and 2 at the moment at an average rate of 300 kb/s.

Seems like a good and smooth distro to me, haven't heard of problems yet.

Reviving this thread to mention this: it looks like my credit card got charged for Slack 10 (I have a subscription). I should get it in the mail soon (though I already downloaded it ).
