Smile Slackbook

Got a new assignment. I'm supposed to make an ebook. I choosed the topic Slackware Linux. I think that the book will be heavy if I start without your suggestions.
I don't want to make the book too long and boring. I want help from you all. Where can I get information about Slackware. How to start. What topics to cover so that the book will be interesting and the readers will atleast try Slackware Once.

1. If you are not totally proficient with Slackware, PLEASE do not write a book about it.

2. Assuming we're past point #1, the best way to write such a thing is from your personal experience. ie: What was it that attracted you, and how did you succeed?

There are already slackware book and if you decided to write another would be good to be something different, and not to repeat anything, as usually happens everywhere. If you don't know well the distrubution not hurry better. This is my advice.

I'm using Slackware. It became about 9 10 months. I don't know each and every details of it. But I know basics of Slackware. Yes I'm a Slackware user and have my own experience.

Hi,

I also suggest that you stay away from writing a book about Slackware. Why not a blog or wiki guide to start out. The gathering of knowledge and experience will enable you to eventually compose something. But not a book based on your limited experience. That book will not do anyone any good or help unless it's a humorous example of your experiences.

Try investigating by breaking a few boxen while tracking the occurrence then possibly something will be gained. A good example would be the 'Slackbook' which is being revised by experienced user(s) and was to be released mid-2009. Been delayed and no one but the author(s) know when the date of release will be.

But if you think your 9-10 months experience is solid and someone out there will read what you have to present then by all means go for it.

"Got a new assignment. I'm supposed to make an ebook."

I'm assuming this is for school work?

I do believe that slackware would be a bit out of the scope for that school assignment.

Why don't you do it on raising puppies or growing a garden in the closet.
