Exclamation Slack 9 iso boot problem


I'm trying to boot my HP Pavilion 7895 PIII 1GHz from the bootable cdrom.

This set have USB mouse and keyboard.
Keyboard connected to pc and mouce to kb.

Starts ok, but ends after a while with message on screen like:

usb.c Deregister driver......
usb.c USB disconnect.......
.
.

Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address d882664d

Printing EIP
.
.
.

Code: Bad EIP Value

++++++++++++++++

Anyone know how to fix?

This usually indicates a memory problem. But since it is booting a CD, you might want to test the CD on another machine first. But if you wanted to isolate if the keyboard or mouse are creating a problem, then perhaps simply disconnecting the mouse and keyboard from the PC. Then boot the CD. If problem still exists then they are probably not responsible.

A good program I recommend for testing memory is MemTest86. It is available from;

Perhaps it will help isolate the problem and welcome to LQ.

Changed mouse to direct to pc, it worked fine.
