pkgs.net is a 3rd-party site that hosts no packages and links to various Slackware repos, including official mirrors.

Why people typically recommend not using pkgs.net is because users might mix packages from different repos that might have different dependency requirements (maybe one was built against qt5.7 and the other was built against qt5.9). Mixing and matching packages from multiple repos can cause all sorts of problems, so it is best to find a repo and stick with it to make sure you aren't going to run into dependency issues. Many newer users aren't aware of this and pkgs.net makes it easy to accidentally mix repos, so it is typically not recommended to use it.
