There are questions which can be reasonable answered. But thread diverged by posts of people who expressed their dislike about such threads. Honestly it could be better for these people to ignore this thread and to let this thread to die quietly or to let others to answer OP questions.
If people ask reasonable questions, they'll get reasonable answers.
Why Slackware? Purely subjective: I prefer it to all the other distros I've tried.
Difficult? No more than Debian, for example. Easier than Arch.
Expert level? Mine? A little more than newbie, a lot less than 1337.

I beg to differ. There are many unanswered (0) threads/posts even when one has asked respectfully. People spend more time fighting/bitching about a full install, whether or not someone compiled their own kernel etc... instead of actually helping the ones that need it most. Every time someone has an opinion that don't agree with the Slackware Cavalry then its flame-bait topics such as this one. Pat V doesn't put much thought into it, why would you guys? People hate Windows, but I'm not defending it every time someone has a negative/positive opinion about it , especially if I'm not getting paid for it. Just let sh!+ be.

It might just be me, but I don't find the following a valid question:

Unless the person who expressed that opinion is a member here then there is no point asking that question here.
You can't ask people to back up an opinion they don't hold -- that's either trolling or misunderstanding how questions work.
If we let sh!+ be, these myths and rumours will be perpetuated: Slackware's old, newer is better. Slackware's difficult, don't try it unless you're an expert.
Let's focus on the 'social media chat' which OP really desires.
Can this Thread be moved to General? (Its real intent is to Chat.)
@OP, do you have access to a Computer which can run VirtualBox.org?
This way, in under an hour (for Slackware; 9minutes for DW/mll, my fav) you can play with it, or any distro. It's exactly like playing with any 'game app'
So, let's all wait until OP lets us know if they have access to a 'PC'
(not just smartphone). Then we can ask more, like:
What is *your* computer experience, interests, goals?
How did you feel while playing in the V Box? How's your life going? School/work?
And on and on. Best wishes to all. Enjoy Life (in the VR of LQ)
@!!!
I installed Linux Mint in VirtualBox for Windows, ok?

Slackware was difficult for me, coming from Windows. That is my experience and not anyone else. How do you benefit from others opinions pertaining to Slackware? I'll try it out one day if I really cared (but I dont)!!!!!

If the OP came in asking specific questions about getting Slackware working, many here would have been happy to help him. But he didn't do that. He came in asking a trolling question for the second time in a few weeks. Actually, the first time he got many helpful answers to his trolling questions. At some point, you have to blame the OP if he doesn't get constructive responses.

Didn't know he was a troll. Well, I guess you have valid reason to not engage.
I thought you guys was being condescending and @$$holes, apparently that's not the case. Enjoy your day.
