that's why your drive is /dev/hdd.
if you use a 2.4.x.x kernel it will also be seen as /dev/sr0

oh..MMyoung>that was double...
well...now he knows for sure...

btw.: my burner also works ok without the "hdc=ide-cd" option,
so maybe it's not needed.

P.S. I will try without hdd=ide-cd and see what the result is.

It may be a good idea to add your username to the "cdrom" group in /etc/group. That way, you'll have r/w access to all of the CDROM device nodes.
