LILO = boot virus?

I recently completed a SlackWare install and I ran into a weird message. During installation, I installed LILO to boot either Windows XP or Linux. I also chose to install LILO to the Master Boot Record. Now, after I select to boot either operating system, the BIOS gives me a message saying that it has detected a virus in the boot sector. This has never happened on previous boots of windows XP, so my initial thought is that it is picking up LILO as the virus. Has anyone ever gotten this kind of message? If so is there any other solution than turning off virus scanning in the bios? Any help is appreciated. Thanks alot.

Well, Lilo DOES modify the MBR, which
a BIOS (in it's wisdom) might mistake for viral
activity ... and I've never seen the message
because I think that a BIOS isn't really clever
enough to make that kind of discrimination and
therefor always turn that feature off ;)

Cheers,
Tink
