Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series - No sound.


So I've gone into the multimedia setting on with Slackware and I tried both of the options with test, nothing.

Slackware 13.1
Linux 2.6.33.4

I do not know much about Xeon, however:

How "lshw' says? (under multimedia)

Did you set kernel parameter(s)? if necessary.

Umm, I'm fairly new to linux and I have no idea what you're talking about.

lspci -vnn | grep -iA 10 audio : May show more 'audio' details, kernel modules etc.

May be the sound is just muted ? ( → alsamixer ? )

Well, you had no chance to know about the muted sound.

Most Linux OS : unmuted. Slackware : muted.
