Firefox, sometimes starts sometimes does not start

Hi

Using Slackware current_64-bit(multilib) firefox version 3.6.10.

The add-ons are installed :

Download Statusbar 0.9.7.2, Fission 1.0.9, Flashblock 1.5.14.2, Novell Moonlight 2.3,PDF Download 3.0.0.1 and DownloadHelper 4.8.1.

The last two add-ons were installed after the Novell Moonlight and DownloadHelper ...

I then noticed that Firefox will not start, sometimes started and sometimes did not start ...

I checked with the help of the mozilla site, that once uninstalled the DownloadHelper Firefox returned to normal behavior.

I have looked on Google if there was anything like my case and found nothing ...

Any ideas would be grateful

ps1: My native language is portuques. The translation into English was done using the Google translator

ps2: Not getting so far, supported by DownloadHelper support site

I do not know if I should post here.

I got communication with the support DownloadHelper.I hope support me back some information ....

Have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, move the old directory to bk, creating a new directory ... I uninstalled and reintalei add-ons ...

For now I think that perhaps something could be attached to the package of Firefox on Slack ...

Slackware current 32-bit Firefox works correctly with all these add-ons ...

It seems to happen only on Slackware current 64-bit ...

Thanks

I'm having a similar problem on slackware64 current with multilib - my firefox won't start on the first fun with out --safe-mode, once I have started it using --safe-mode once it will then start ok without --safe-mode. Starting it from the command line doesn't give anything away it just fails! Anyone else have this problem?

I tried using the beta4 version, it does start correctly, unfortunately it won't be sufficient for me as I require firebug for web development, I will struggle on with the current version, hopefully the latest updates to -current will have fixed something!

Here, the latest version of the current ( mozilla-firefox-3.6.11-x86_64-1 ) gives the same problem ... :-(

I came here today to see if anyone is having problems with Firefox and Slack and found this thread. What's been happening to me for that last couple of days is pretty much what you're describing. Firefox just keeps on crashing over and over and sometimes won't even start.I finally got it to start enough times to remove any plugins and addons and it seems to be working fine now, but I honestly think this is a fluke. Anyone have any idea why Firefox is crashing so frequently? I'm running Slackware 13.1 32-bit with the latest version of firefox.

For the record, I'm running 64-current and upgraded FF to 3.6.11 yesterday or so, and it's been flawless, not a single issue.

Please ,do you use add-ons? I'm thinking that the problem is in the add-ons ...

In my particular case, I have problems with "DownloadHelper", but perhaps not only this add-on ...

I did tests without add-ons and FF worked fine for me.(tested for a few hours ... do not know if those hours were enough ...)

Cert Patrol
FEBE
FlashGot
FoxClocks
Ghostery
Image Zoom
Master Password timeout
NoScript
Perspectives
RefControl
ScreenGrab
SmoothWheel+
Tab Mix+
Tiny Menu
Toolbar Buttons
Vacuum Places Improved.

Please, could you install add-on "DownloadHelper" (for testing), because when I disable it, FF works correctly ... If I enable DownloadHelper, FF does not always start .......... ...

I use Slackware-current 64-bit multilib. Uses you slack-multilib?

I do not notice the problem with many users and that's bad, why then could be linked to my Slackware installation ....

thanks for the replies

many thanks :-)

No, I'm not using multi-lib -- it would be interesting to know if the users having this problem, are also using multi-lib.

Perhaps tomorrow or so I'll look up DownloadHelper, not tonight - got lots of tabs open and I want it to stay that way.

I'm pretty sure I'm not using multi-lib and firefox crashes the first time that I start it, then it's ok. This started happening a couple of days ago.
