when the redhat linux install... install all the kde, gnome panel.
booting loader:grub install.
now, gnome panel is appear.. how to change the kde panel ?
You go to the redHat menu at the bottom right, then System Tools, More System Tools, then click on Desktop Switching Tool. It will give you a choice of what desktop you want to use.
There are manual ways to do it, but this is the easiest.
I used Desktop Switching Tool to get from Gnome to KDE and now I cannot get back to Gnome. I have Desktop Switching Tool set to Gnome, but when I start X, KDE keeps comming up. Is there a manual way I can try? I am using RH7.2. I tried XWMCONFIG, but the command was not found.
not sure about RH 7.2 but under RH9 /etc/sysconfig/desktop if u edit this file able to mention if u want KDE/Gnome. Under users home dir should have a file says .Xclients_defaults and here u will type exec gnome sesions / exec kdestart
Remeber these r idffrent versions but try and see.
