ATI Driver Dual-Head doesn't overlay

Hello,

I am using:

RHEL - 5.2
ATI - x1300 video card

I downloaded the ATI driver directly from ATI's website. When you run the bin, it creates an .rpm for you depending on your distribution. I choose red hat 5 and the driver loads. I then initialize the drivers with:

aticonfig --initial=dual-head --overlay-on=1 ( I may have typed this slightly different here since I am not by my system)

It creates an xorg.conf with the 'fgrlx' driver installed. I restart x, and I get two screens, each independent, but not treated as one big screen. This same command works with Suse 11.0 and Ubuntu 8.04. My goal is to use RHEL. Has anybody else ran into this and found a solution?

Regards,

Randy.

You Might Check Debian for some Dual Screen Driver downloads

The Debian respo's have some dual screen drivers that might solve your problems. Could be some work recompiling for your distro but hey, might be worth a try.

Good Luck, Michael
