ATI driver refuses dual head in xorg.conf
I'm a complete newbie at Linux, and have played with a few versions here and there, but this time I want to give it a serious crack.
In order for me to take this seriously though, I need to be able to get dual head working on my IBM Thinkpad A22m laptop
It has an ATI video driver, and I'm running Mandriva 2006.
I searched through the site (and on google) on how to configure dual-head and others seem to be getting it to work.
When I'm referring to dual head, I'm taking about having a second desktop, so that when a window is maximized, the window isn't stretching across both.
My error in the log when I try to start up KDE:
ATI: XF86Config Device sections "ATI Rage Mobility" and "ATI Rage Mobility 2" may not be assigned to the same adapter.
After that, no devices detected, no screens found (probably both errors resulting from the above)
I'm at my whit's end for this one for the time being. I really want to make an effort to ditch windoze!
Thanks in advance for your help!
