set iBook to automatically power-up after power failure

Hi again

I have an iBook 300 MHZ (powerPC 750 (83.0)) Firmware ver. 4.1.7f4, sharing the internet connection with all other computers we have here.

and need it automatically power-up after power failure, I tried the option in the "Energy Saving" control but it doesnt work

The good old Powerbook 3400c powers-up whenever I plug it in, So I hope to make the ibook do so too.

I know that there's an option on most of the PC BIOSs that does this but dont know how to do this on Macs as they use open firmware.

Server mode might not work because the Power Manager settings are unstable. Try resetting the Power Management Unit.

Here's how:

Thanks for your reply, After reading the article you kindly pointed to, I think its related to something I was so foolish to forget noting before.

This iBook's battery is dead as well as the internal battery, can this be the cause

I tried anyway but it didn't help, maybe some thing's wrong with it coz the ancient pb3400c without neither battery still powers up whenever I connect it.

Thanks a lot for your help.
