Help a New Mepis User - Bunch of Problems!

I installed Mepis 6.0 and love it! I've used a lot of distros, and none of them have been as rock solid and speedy as this one. I've run into some problems, though.

1. Everytime I start my computer, the resolution is WAY too high. This starts at KDM and carries over into KDE. I can change it, but it goes back everytime I reboot. How do I make it stay there?

2. Some of the fonts are so small, they're uncomfortable to read. I've had this problem in most distros, and it's less of a problem in this one. I just want to know how to make all fonts system wide consistant in size.

3. I can't get my nVidia drivers installed. Last time I tried, I ended up with a broken XORG. I did it through the System Center. Is there any other way to do it, or did I do something wrong? I have a Geforce 5500 FX (not 100% sure on the number) with 256 MB of VRAM.

4. Another font problem. The font in terminal is so small, I almost can't use it. I figured out how to change it, but it changes back when I reopen it. Also, I want the window size to be bigger. That also resets.

That's all for now.

I think I can help with #1 and #3. I fixed my screen resolution by booting with the liveCD as shown in the Mepis Wiki>Quick Fixes>Change the Monitor resolution. I can't post the link because I don't have 3 posts here yet.
There's are a couple of nVidia links at the bottom of the page.

1. in the control center, under system admin. you will find mepis utilities. you may change the resolution there, as well as the general size of the fonts.

2.The font size can also be adjusted under appearance and themes in the control center.

3. I used the nvidia installer that can be found at www.nvidia.com. Worked well. Remember to install the xorg.dev package or you will have trouble.

I just installed the nvidia driver on two of my distros, Mepis being one of them look in my recent posts for more usefull help on the subject.
