xmodmap & KDM

Mandrake 9.2, KDM starts KDE by default.
I have made some changes to my key bindings which i can load by

/usr/X11R6/bin/xmodmap /home/halldor/.Xmodmap

Now, i want them to apply to any windowmanager...

~/.xinitrc -> doesn't work (yes, .xinitrc is an executable shell script)
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc -> doesn't work
~/.bash_profile -> works within windowmanager, but when I start any new tty, it also tries to load, which is ok, but useless, since x-server is not running.

Perhaps KDE Autostart folder, but then again, it's for KDE only. And I don't want to change the global Xmodmap...

What else can I try?
/Halldor
