KDM & Debian

I Installed Debian Sarge from ftp, KDE 3.3.1, KDM is ised for login manager. By default I'm unable to login under root from KDM. But also I can't find option in KDE Control Center (Login Screen Config) to enable this.

In Mandrake I saw this option, but here there isn't such thing.

Help, how to enable root login in KDM?

K Menu -> Control Center -> System Administration -> Login Manager ->
Users Tab. That will allow you to unhide root as a user. I don't know what the Sarge login looks like but you can't just type it in?

Root login to GUI is disabled for security reasons and you should do admin tasks by using su, sux or kdesu. If you really want to login to GUI as root edit in /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc AllowRootLogin=false to true
