usrobotic modem
I've been working with a usrobotic 56k performance pro modem in a soyo board. The modem is set up to work in port 5-it will work in linux if the distribution will allow port 5 to be used-not a winmodem-it works with slackware, with redhat, but not mandrake. Is there a way to go into config files to get autodetect to allow port 5 to be set up? Slackwares workaround is to delete the link to the modem file, delete one of the ttyS files, set up ttyS4 as a port on the system and recreate the softlink. Mandrake seems to lock the user out from doing this-I tried it and got nowhere. If there is a workaround, I would like to know about it.
