problem with mouse cursor

i have looked all around the configuration options, around as much as google as i could, and in various other places,
but i havent been able to find an answer to this question:

whenever im loading a program, a little mini icon of it appears next to my mouse cursor,
this would be nice, but the icon does not travel at the same rate of speed as my mouse cursor... its kind of laggy,
so i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to either,
A. get rid of the loading icons that appear next to the mouse cursor,
or B. get rid of the laggyness of the icon,

im using mandrake 10.1 with KDE 3.2 i think it is??

my videocard is a radeon 9600 and im pretty sure i have it configured correctly,
thanks a lot and i look forward to being a member of the community.

I get that too on standard installation but it's not a problem for me I guess the application thread setting up the application in memory is using all the resources and the program only updates the cursor icon every now and again

You can turn off the notification in the KDE setup if it bothers you. The normal cursor may still drag when a program loads up however.

the cursor doesnt drag though,

the icon that follows it drags.

Sometime the KDE configuration is also in the Main part of KMenu and called "Control Center".

The name of the actual program is "kcontrol"
