Need help with bootloader

So i installed a second hdd, and installed XP on it, and tried using mcc to setup lilo to also show windows as a boot options. But I couldn't figure it out, and after some fooling around and restarting, I got it to display the option to boot from windows, but the linux boot options were deleted; so now its impossible for me to boot linux. Or windows for that matter, because the windows boot option still doesnt work. Any help would be appreciated. I've tried using the rescue dvd to reset the bootloader, but all it does is recreate the unworking windows boot option. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah I've found my answer. But would you happen to know where the lilo.config file is?

It should be in your /etc directory. Don't forget to make a backup of your lilo.conf before making any changes.

My lilo.conf was already messed up, so theres really no need for a back up. So i used rescue mode to access a terminal, and added in linux, but I can't run the lilo command from the rescue cd, so I downloaded DSL, and used that to reedit lilo.conf and then i tried running lilo from within DSL, but with no luck, so now im pretty much stuck.

So I've got it to add linux to the boot menu, but when I try to boot, I get this error

No file system could mount root, tried: ext2 cramfs
Kernel panic- not syncing; VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(3,5)

Problem Solved. Needed to ad append="devfs=mount"
