downloaded mandrake 10.1 beta at work today.
I've been using mandrake since version 9.0 and it gets better with each release (apart from the small hiccup of 9.2) and 10.1 is no exception.
Gnome 2.6 (oh yes oh yes oh yes)
Kernel 2.6.8-0.rc2
OpenOffice 1.1.2
mozplugger 1.6.0
Amarok has been added, (a nice enuff media player)
Haven't noticed anything else as yet.
I installed it as an upgrade over mdk10 Official and all the apps (that didn't get upgraded) seem to be still working.
NVIDIA drivers installed ok and 3d seems to work ok, I'm getting a better frame rate out of armagetron.
Distribution: Mac OS X Leopard 10.6.2, Windows 2003 Server/Vista/7/XP/2000/NT/98, Ubuntux64, CentOS4.8/5.4

Cool! Keep us posted about 10.1. Once it's finalized and I don't read about too many problems like in 9.2/10.0, then I'll finally be ready to upgrade my 9.1!
IMHO 9.2 is better than 9.1 and has been my default boot option for months, though once I've finished setting up everything in my 10.0 install I'll probably switch. Each time the updated packages definately seem worth the upgrade time, and I've had no major bugs with either so far.
I'm running 10.1 beta1 in addition to 10.0 Community (from the tree not the old download isos).
10.1 seems to work about as well as 10.0 at this point. All the problems I saw in Cooker and the alpha release seem to have been fixed. The only bug I noticed was the kernel had problems when doing the reboot at the end of the install, but other than that no problems.
This is a little OT but I'm running KDE 3.3.0 also and it's in amazingly good shape, as trouble free as 3.2.3 on my box and slightly faster too.
IS it possible to upgrade MDK10.0 to 10.1beta if you just use the rpm install thing in MDK. Meaning in media manager add the 10.1beta rpm location and then with install you say upgrade. Is it possible that way or do you have to use the CD's?
btw ... just installed amarok 1.0.2 from the cooker and it crashes when i want to add media
I've installed 10.1 Beta2 on 3 machines. The only problem I've run into is It still has problems with the Nvidia chip set. The Nvidia video drivers wont install. So on that machine I have no accelerator graphics.

Which kernel version(s) are you using? From my installs of 10.1 Beta2, the closed source nvidia driver (6111) will successfully compile with kernels up to 2.6.8.1-3. Kernels 2.6.8.1-4/5's file: include/linux/pm.h was altered, and some enum variables were removed, including PM_SAVE_STATE. That's seems to be the reason why the nvidia driver fails to build with the -4/5 versions.
*Update for those using cooker/10.1 beta2/RC1 + kernel>2.6.8.1-3(5-8) and Nvidia-1.0-6111 driver.
Well, after many failed attempts to install the nvidia driver with each kernel release > 2.6.8.1-3, I had resorted to stick with kernel-2.6.7-2 (due to the k3b bug). Now that the k3b bug has been fixed in 2.6.8.1-8, I decided to give it another go in trying to install the Nvidia driver. Installed both the kernel + source and guess what? Still no go. Then I had remembered reading a post from bugzilla about replacing the pm.h file from kernel-source-2.6.7-2 to the one in 2.6.8.1-*. Did just that, and now, I have the nvidia driver fully working with the current kernel. I'm not too sure if the pm.h file > 2.6.7-2 but < 2.6.8.1-4 will work, but from my previous attempts to install the nvidia driver, it had started to fail compiling with kernels > 2.6.8.1-3.
