So I see that Mandrake 10 beta 2 is now available. Does anyone know what version kernel it uses. I'm trying to find an easy way to get to version 2.6 for the wireless support .
Distribution: Red Hat 8.0, Slackware 8.1, Knoppix 3.7, Lunar 1.3, Sorcerer

www.distrowatch.com has Mdk 10 Beta 2 listed under distros that provide 2.6.x series kernels . Not sure if 2.6.x offers significantly better support for wireless components, but most of the linux wireless drivers should be supported by 2.4.x .

That's the kernel version: 2.6
the trailing numbers denote the revision 'rc' is a release candidate, ready for final rock-solid testing to be sure no more bugs are in it. Go to http://www.kernel.org before you install anything. That way, you'll find out what you're up against. If you want good support, try a 2.4 kernel (perhaps 2.4.22 or newer). The 2.6 still has a few issues and MDK10 and Connectiva are the only ones I know of that have 2.6 in them. Both are betas
