I heard one time this guy just typed in urmpi <name of file> and it installed everything for him, i was wondering if you can do this for all programs?

You must first configure urpmi database, go to
Code:
easyurpmi.zarb.org
and follow those steps. When you finish, just run as root
Code:
urpmi xxx
(xxx is the program name )
Or you can go to
Code:
rpm.pbone.net
and find the RPM package for your Mandriva...

If you prefer a gui use rpmdrake (see menu->System->Configuration->Packaging) - its a frontend to urpmi. Be a bit careful with rpm.pbone.net to get a package specifically for your distro and remember that you'll have to search and download each and every dependency, whereas urpmi/RPMdrake does it all automatically for you.

Yes but make sure you have main, contrib, plf-free and plf-nonfree as well. (See menu->System->Configuration->Packaging)
