I’m newer then a newbie to linux; I come from the windows world, so please bear with my simpleton questions.

I downloaded the entire Mandrake 9.1/i586 ISO Image folder from Mandrakelinux.com, 2.6 gig. I cannot find any instructions on how to put this distribution onto bootable CDs.

1. How do I get it onto bootable CDs?
2. Madrake has 2 distributions for the i586, Mandrake 9.1/i586 and Mandrake 9.1/i586 ISO Image. Which one should I be using?
3. I also read in one of the threads here that recommended downloading linux from linuxiso.org. Should I be doing that instead?

You should be using the ISO image. Each ISO image file you downloaded is a CD. Depending on your CD-buring software, you should be able to just burn an "image" or an "ISO Image".

linuxiso.org is one of the easier places to d/l for a beginner. not sure how fast it is, but they list clearly what to d/l. it should be a single file for each ISO, not an entire folder. for Mandrake you really only need the first one to get started. they also have links to an ISO burning guide and FAQ on the left. gl
