Because if we keep stickying things like this, useful as they are, pretty soon the members will be complaining that first page has no new threads, only stickied ones. It will still be available via the Search function though.
Ok I added it there. To bad we dont have something like a hints file that everyone can see. Or even a random tip that is displayed when you change pages. It could have been posted there as well.
Around mid-December 2004, the zarb.org site announced they weren't going to be supporting the urpmi page anymore. However, here is a list of alternative sites that you can use:
It's a mdk-9.2 script, but it works just fine on my mdk-10.1 machine. It's best for updating sources that you already have, and getting rid of bad rpms, in case you have a local installation directory, or use local ftp install.
The reason that I mention urpmi.setup is because when you update using mcc, and there is a problem, the program just quits without giving you any information.
Set up selection criteria beginning with Mandrake 9.2 (you'll notice it shows 10.1 when you go into the page) and i586. Then pick ANY update site for ANY category and hit the button.
You will get a result, sure, but it will be for 10.1 software! If you then do the usual urpmi commandline technique for updating everything, you'll end up with 10.1 software and a VERY munged up machine!
