Question A couple of questions about Mozilla

I would like to upgrade to Mozilla 1.5. It says on their homepage that you have to uninstall Mozilla first before you do this. How do I uninstall Mozilla 1.4 from Mandrake 9.2?

Is there any way that I can backup my bookmarks?

Anything else I should beware of before I take the plunge?

I've frequently installed several versions of mozilla - stick one in ~/home/bin with the other in /usr/bin or wherever it is, and so on. So you don't *have* to uninstall. Your bookmarks are in ~/.mozilla/blah/blah/bookmarks.html but that part won't get uninstalled either way. Still a good idea to have a backup - just 'cp' it somewhere else.

Still, it is safest to uninstall the old, I suppose. Nothing special I can think to warn you about, though. Go for it.

Thanks. How do I uninstall the old one if that's what I decide to do?

I dunno. In Slack it's 'removepkg' but for Mandrake it's probably some argument on 'rpm' or 'urpmi' or whatever it's called. I'm sure the man page will have that info and it's probably a simple '-u' or '-r' or something like. For Gentoo it's 'emerge -c mozilla', for instance. Or Mandrake probably has something to click on, right? A sort of graphical package manager?

Since other people might be reading this, you remove it in Mandrake Control Center. You were irght about the bookmarks. Thanks. My flash player plugin doesn't work at all now, even though I copied it in the right place. But like I said somewhere else, it didn't work right before either.
